Daesangs or "Artist/ Album of The
Year Award" are being awarded in numerous Korean Award Shows mostly
presented as the year ended or halfway of the year.
Seoul Music Awards, Golden Disk
Awards, Melon Music Awards, and Mnet Asian Music Awards are some of these
Korean awards shows that gives "Daesang" or the Grand Prize of all
categories. These highest awards are generally many depending on the award
show. Many fans have also been asking this question for a while, and we got you

top list of groups with the most Daesang award as of June 2020.
2NE1
The four-membered group from YG Entertainment became famous for their amazing songs and catchy tunes ever since their debut, has helped them step in the limelight and won 6 Daesangs in their whole music career as a group. They won MAMA Song Of The Year, MMA Album Of The Year twice, and MAMA Album and Artist of the Year in 2010.
SUPER JUNIOR
SM Entertainment manages one of the
three groups in this list, and Super Junior is one of them. As the legendary
senior group that released the smash hit, "Sorry Sorry," from 2009,
has given so many achievements for Super Junior, and it continues to grow.
As time goes by, they have collected 7
Daesang: two MAMA Song Of The Year, MAMA Album of The Year, MAMA Artist of The
Year, two Melon Music Awards: Album Of The Year and Golden Disk Award: Song of
The Year.
WONDER GIRLS
Wonder Girls may have broken the world
with their most enormous hit "Nobody" back in 2008, the group has
established themselves as one of the top girl groups in the country and earned
their daesangs as time went by.
In 2007, the group got their first-ever rookie award and followed with Song of the Year in 2008. And as it went on, the group had collected 8 Daesangs before they disbanded.
BIG BANG
Another group from YG Entertainment is
running in the list for the most daesangs. With a dashing ten trophies, the
group is tied with Girls' Generation. The group got their first daesang in 2007
for Song Of The Year in MAMA and has been a continuous nominee in the show for
the next couple of years.
The group also won Artist of The Year in 2012 and 2015 for both Mnet Asia Music Awards and Melon Music Awards.
TWICE (15 Daesangs)
As one of the busiest and most hardworking idol girl groups today in Kpop seems to be paying off as JYP's nine-membered group, TWICE, has been winning awards. With the back-to-back daesangs that the group from JYP Entertainment has been awarded, they are currently holding a total of 15 Grand Prize Awards, which furthers their record as the top girl group with the most number of daesang trophies in history.
TOP 3: GIRLS'
GENERATION (21 Daesangs)
The second group, managed by SM Entertainment, is the Nation's
Girl Group Girls' Generation running in the list. With 21 Daesangs in
the record, the group continues to flourish for collecting Daesangs since 2009
with Melon Music Awards: Song Of The Year, Artist Of The Year, and Golden Disk
Award: Digital Daesang.
By 2010, they won Korean Music Awards: Song Of The Year, Melon Music Awards: Artist Of The Year, Golden Disk Awards: Disk Daesang and Seoul Music Awards: Daesang. The group also got their MAMA Artist of the Year award and SMA Daesang in 2011 and their Golden Disk Award: Digital Daesang the next year.
TOP 2: EXO (23 Daesangs)
EXO has reigned for the past years as
the top group for the most daesang; however, in 2020, they placed second. The
third group that continues to flourish with their amazing comebacks from SM
Entertainment has collected 23 Daesangs in their whole music career.
EXO claimed their first Daesang in
2013 2013 with Album Of The Year from MAMA, Song Of The Year from MMA, and Song
of the Year from KBS Gayo for the song "Growl." As years passed by,
the next 20 Daesangs were collected until 2017.
TOP GROUP WITH THE MOST DAESANG: BTS
(41 Daesangs)
It is incredible to see BTS have
collected all of their Daesangs' in such a short time, considering their first
Daesang was awarded in 2016, at the 'Melon Music Awards' for the best album
with "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever."
It is also a crazy record for the
group for rewriting history in South Korea as the only group that swept all of
the Daesang awards in 2019 and early 2020. With a dashing 41 Daesangs bagged by
the group, it is indeed the most significant moment in the history of K-Pop.
